Well 2 weeks sure can fly by quickly!

We arrived back home from Alaska around midnight last night!

I have decided if I can ever arrange it I want to move to Alaska! Jerry and I had such an awesome time!
We flew into Anchorage...then very early the next morning we took the train to Seward. That ended up being one of our favorite towns. Its a beautiful town on Resurrection Bay. I found a wonderful restaurant there called Chinook's! We always picked a window seat looking out at the Harbor!
Awesome fresh seafood!
We also went to Telkeetna/ this is the town that the TV show Northern Exposure was based on. It is a very unique little town just like the tv show! We loved it! We stayed at the Talkeetna Lodge, and the view from our room was of Mt. McKinley. So beautiful.
Went to Denali, and Denali National Park saw a lot of wildlife. Moose, grizzlies, Dall Sheep, a wolf, caribou and many many Eagles.
Went to Fairbanks and panned for gold. We did pretty good! Ate in some amazing resturants.
Also visited Whittier. Went on a cruise to see a glacier. Stayed in the Whittier Inn. very nice.

I will try and have pics up soon! Trying to edit them now.

Well today I spent the morning doing a little grocery shopping, buying plants for my garden and also some flowers.
I picked up a few odds and ends that we were going to be needing on our trip. Small size( I guess they are called travel size) hair spray, lotion etc.
Started some of my packing. I can't believe we are just about to our travel time!

So when I returned home I planted my small garden, also planted my flowers in their pots. Did some yard work then went inside to start there.

I love having a day off and then being able to actually be at home!

Oh Tenley and I did run to the dr's this am...She had to get a monitor for tonight when she sleeps. They are pretty sure she has sleep apnea. But with her having Down syndrome they don't want to make her sleep at the clinic if at all possible. It would freak her out to much.

So now I am supposed to be paying bills, but instead I am on the computer!

Well I had better go !

This afternoon I was treated to a pedicure by Carmen for my mothers day gift. It was so much fun. She had one also! It was her first. This was a major step for her! Her feet are so ticklish that she never wants anyone to touch them!
I teased her that she was a big girl today! Even though she is 21! The massaging of the feet and when they buffed off the dry/dead skin she was squirming in her chair!
I treasure these wonderful times together!
Tenley even decided to go along so she could see what they do. But we couldn't get her to even try it, not even a manicure! She just tucked her hands under her lap and pulled her feet under her chair! She had us laughing also. But she did get alittle bored.
I love these girl times! Since my girls have lives of their own I don't get to spend( or I should say we ) don't get enough of these special times!

Well today was Mothers Day! It has been a wonderful day. Was able to sleep in a little bit!

Our Pastor had a wonderful sermon.
Came home and Jerry and Tenley fixed lunch! Jerry grilled steak and chicken. He also made a wonderful huge salad. Tenley set the table, then they both cleaned up after.
Carmen had to work the breakfast and lunch shift at subway, so she wasn't able to be here for lunch.
Jerry is now grilling his famous Chicken wings!
I was able to get alittle of my scrapbooking done and watched some chickflicks by myself!
I love Mothers Day!
But I do have to admit, I sure miss those Mothers Days where the girls would pick me a big bunch of whatever flowers were growing in the yard! They were always so proud, because they did it all by themselves! Those are some of the memories a Mother never forgets!
I hope all my wonderful female friends and family had a wonderful Mothers Day also!

Well I am starting my official count down! On June 5Th Jerry and I will embark on our first trip to Alaska!
We celebrate our 25Th ann. May 23rd. So we are taking a delayed 2 wk trip to Alaska! We can hardly wait. We are not doing the Alaska Cruise. We will fly into Alaska then embark on a 10 day train trip! Each day you go to a new location, do something exciting( 5hr day cruise to watch the whales, see the glaciers, pan for gold etc.) then we stay each night in a different lodge. The last two days we are there we won't be on the train anymore. We will be able to just explore!

Could someone please explain to me why when someone says they cant or don't want to help in something, they then take over when someone else has agreed to do it!

It is very maddening! If you don't want to do it than leave it alone and trust that the person will do a good job and is capable of handling it!

Here are some cute little stories of my great nephew Caleb who just turned 4 told by his Grandma, my sister Kim:

Caleb attends gymnastic class once a week. Caleb likes to take off his shoes and socks while he is there and Tara( his mom) doesnt like him going around there barefooted so she is always telling him No. At class this last week Caleb was at a station that his mom could not see him real well but could see that his instructor was really talking to him..She then saw Caleb had his hands down the front of his shorts up to his elbows and was just a digging. He pulled them out and had his socks in his hands. The instructor asked him "why he put his socks in his underware?" and h e replied with "Well, I have no pockets!"

This past weekend Tara, her mom and Caleb went to Indy for a wedding. One of Tara's cousins was getting married and so they stayed the night at the Hilton downtown. Anyway, they were all at the reception hall waiting on the MC to announce the wedding party while all the little ones sat around the outter edges of the dancefloor. Tara wasn't paying that much attention to Caleb because he was with his cousins and she was talking.,when she saw cameras flashing and laughter. She turned around to see Caleb setting out in the middle of the dance floor with his shoes and socks off chewing on his toes. She about died, ran out grabbed him while the whole time he was yelling"What! What!"

I love little kids stories. They can make me smile no matter what kind of day I have had!

Wow I can't believe it has been over a year since I have been on my own blog.

Lots of things have taken place over the past year.
Starting last spring we built our long awaited garage(20 yrs of waiting). It is so rewarding watching my husband spend time in there.
On one half he built his woodshop...he loves working with wood, but has never had a place to do it. Now he has the place and I have all kinds of projects I would love for him to make!
That took about 5 months to finish. We had lots of help from my wonderful brother Mark and his wife Diane! we couldn't have gotten it done without them.
After the garage was completed we finished landscaping. Now I am awaiting spring to see all the new lovely plants and flowers!
With the economy being as it is my work slowed way down, it is showing a glimmer of growing now!

With a lot of prayer and research I am now studying massage for cancer patients. It has been a long difficult at times decision for me. See I get attached to each one of my clients and to loose one of them I always thought that was just more than I could deal with. But God had other plans! He introduced a man to me who had 4 types of terminal Cancer. He came for his first massage a little unsure. He was mainly coming for his wife. When he returned for his second massage he shared with me how well he had slept, which he was having difficulty sleeping. But what moved me most was when he shared how wonderful it was to be touched with warm and caring hands. I asked him to share with me what he meant. He said it was very rare anymore to feel good when someone was touching him! ( Drawing bld, all his tests, cemo etc.) It was at that moment I realized it wasn't about me anymore! It was about using the gift God has given me to give comfort to others. He was able to come for a couple more massages and he shared things with me that made me feel good and I felt that at times I was getting more from his massages than he was!
He soon passed away after his last massage and yes it broke my heart! But I now know another direction that God is gently guiding me into with my massage! God is good all the time and all the time God is good!
